Assessing Pupils' Progress is linked directly with the Assessment For Learning (AFL) strategy and although not yet compulsory it has been proved to help to track and intervene when required in order to progress pupil progress through resilient yet flexible framework
- APP is a process of structured periodic assessment for Mathematics, English, Science and ICT. It supports teachers by promoting a broad curriculum and by developing teachers skills in assessing standards of attainment and the progress children have made. APP enables teachers to make judgements about pupils' attainment, keyed into national standards. It informs curriculum planning by identifying possible gaps in the curriculum and promotes teaching that's matched to pupil's needs.
- approval is the solution to manage and track APP. It allows teachers to record and collect evidence as pupils progress through assessment opportunities. An assessment opportunity could be unit of work, a piece of work or an end of unit test. APP is not additional to standard work it is used to periodically review your pupils' work in line with your current school assessment arrangements. approval provides the tools to simplify and manage the recording, reporting and evidence of this process.
